Intro to Multi-pitch

This is a two day course where students can expect to become more comfortable swinging leads on multi-pitch climbs.

Day 1-

- Leave No Trace principals

-Trad gear placements and anchoring.

-How to prepare for a multi-pitch.

-Reading topos and terrain on bigger climbs.

-Following and cleaning gear efficiently.

-Belaying from above.

-Multi-pitch belay management.

-Safe multi-pitch rappel practices.

Day 2- Put our skills from Day 1 to use on a multi-pitch climb and learn:

-Clear communications or commands on climbs.

-Smooth transitions at belays.

-Risk assessment.

-Route finding on multi-pitches

Prerequisites for this class are the same as the Trad is Rad but students must also be proficient in lead belaying and leading (or mock leading) in the gym, sport, or trad.
